Hapimari: Happy Marriage!? Episode 10 Recap

At last, the truth is out! Well, at least for Seiji’s part. It’s a pity though that he died protecting Hokuto from the truth. This is, I think, the saddest episode. I wish they reconciled earlier and had more father-son bonding time.

Little by little, the mystery of Hokuto’s Mom’s death is being unveiled. It’s getting clearer and clearer that someone in the Mamiya family is the murderer.

First Impression: Sachiiro no One Room

I haven’t written a First Impression post for a long while now. I kinda miss making one. Unlike recaps, my first impressions are free-flowing. I can express anything I want. There’s a sense of freedom in it. And I’m not bounded by the script or plot.

Anyways, here’s one interesting Japanese drama for you. The unique and intriguing plot got me really interested. I mean, how can a kidnap victim-kidnapper relationship fall under romance category? At least, it should have been on psychological-drama or something on the darker side of the spectrum.

Here’s the synopsis from Mangarock:

One day, a 14-year-old girl was kidnapped by a masked boy. Even while the news shows her name and face everywhere and interviews her weeping parents, this girl knows it’s all fake — she knows this because those very same parents abused her day and night.

Now this girl, re-named “Sachi,” lives in a small one-room apartment with her kidnapper, the walls full of photos of her. Even though he’s her stalker, Sachi wants to stay here, because she’s never met someone who loved her so much. She proposes that once they escape the police and her parents for good, that they get married — in return, her captor promises to give her the happiness she always wanted. This is the story of their hidden life and strange love.

Hapimari: Happy Marriage!? Episode 9 Recap

For those who are wondering if I’ll finish Hapimari: Happy Marriage!? here’s your answer. Tadah! Episode 9. Three more episodes to go and I’m done. Yay! Yep, I know this is severely overdue. Gomen-ne.

Finally, some questions were answered. But still, the biggest, most intriguing puzzle remains. Who wants to kill Hokuto?

Boku wa Ashita, Kinou no Kimi to Date Suru (Tomorrow, I Will Date With Yesterday’s You) Movie Recap

I’m on hyper drive. Yay! I finally found time to finish this one. It has been hibernating in my drafts for a year and I’m super glad to share this awesome movie with you guys.

The movie’s storyline captivated me. It’s like a fusion of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, two of my favorite movies of all time. Just a little advice if you want to watch the movie yourself though, you have to be very patient on how the story unfolds itself. You may find some scenes strange at first but everything will be answered one by one towards the end. I think it’s the main reason why it didn’t feel draggy at all. Plus, there’s an added element of Sci-fi into it. All in all, it’s not your typical romance movie and despite the frustrating ending, it’s still the best ending the OTP could ever have.

Truly, great love finds ways. No matter how impossible or how brief it is for you to be together, if you really love someone, you will grasp every opportunity you get.

Kyou no Kira-kun (Closest to Heaven) Movie Recap

Yes, I’m alive! Gawd, I miss posting recaps in this blog. It has been centuries. Okay that was an exaggeration. But anyways, if you’re curious what got me busy for months, well, I gave birth to twins! Yay! I had a very rough pregnancy and my twins were premature. But now that they’re almost 7 months old and super healthy, I guess I can go back to blogging. Posting may not be as frequent as before but at least there’s an update.

Kyou no Kira-kun is a live-action adaptation of a manga of the same title. The story revolves around the life of an introvert high schooler, Ninon Okamura and her popular next-door neighbor and classmate, Yuiji Kira. Unfortunately, Kira is sick and only has a year to live. When Ninon knew of this, she tried to befriend him and promised to be with him until the end. Eventually, they fell in love. But will their time-bounded love have a happy ending?

Kodaike no Hitobito (The Kodai Family) Movie Recap

This movie is downright hilarious and sweet. I think the only downside to this is, it’s so darn difficult to recap! Most of the funny scenes happened inside the mind and I’m afraid I won’t be able to give justice to the movie’s unique humor. But since I really want to share this nice movie with you guys, I decided to give this one a try.

I’m pretty satisfied with everything. I love the plot and the leads. I’ve seen Takumi Saito portray more mature roles before and it’s pretty exciting to watch him do a rom-com. As for Haruka Ayase, well, she’s THE Ayase so I already expect a great performance from her.

In a nutshell, this movie is about an ordinary office lady, Kie Hirano, who loves to daydream. One day, she meets the eldest son of the Kodai family, Mitsumasa Kodai, who can read people’s mind. It’s a gift he and his siblings inherited from their British grandmother. He finds her bizarre imagination amusing and fell in love with her outright. Everything’s going fine, until, Mitsumasa’s mom returns from London and disapproves of Kie. From there, their relationship starts to get a little rickety.

Hapimari: Happy Marriage!? Episode 8 Recap

I’m glad that this episode showcased more of our OTP’s married life. At least, the focus shifted back to romance, away from the exhausting corporate dramas and family feuds. Phew! It’s a breather if you ask me.

Anyways, there’s a major turning point in the end. It’s a little tragic, but I consider it a welcome development, plot-wise.
